About Us
The practice was founded in October 1987 by Neil Sykes as a single handed surgery and over the past 33 years has grown into a three surgery multi-disciplinary practice offering the full range of preventive, restorative, cosmetic and implant services.
The practice has an extensive group of Dental Nurses who are trained to support the delivery of all our services from the simplest check-up all the way through to the placement of multiple implants.

Neil Sykes

I graduated from Manchester University in 1982 and initially worked in NHS practice in Moss Side in Manchester from 1982 to 1987. I held a part time teaching position in the restorative and prosthetic department of Manchester Dental School from 1983 and worked one day a week in private practice in Altrincham until I opened Pennine Dental in 1987. Interests outside dentistry include coaching amateur Rugby, skiing, sailing, golfing (very badly) and touring holidays. I am a co-founder of a book club group in Manchester which is essentially an excuse to go to the pub.

Dominic O’Hooley

Dominic qualified from Liverpool University in 1993 and after working in hospital dentistry, he has been committed to private dentistry for over two decades. Placing and restoring dental implants for many years, Dominic is extremely experienced at bone grafting, sinus lifting and aesthetically challenging cases. He lectures nationally and writes extensively in the dental press. This includes work for the Association of Dental Implantology. “I love dentistry.. it is such a perfect mix of technical skill and artistry. It allows me the opportunity to meet people who I take pride in helping with their dental issues and surpassing their expectations” says Dominic. When he is not at work, Dominic loves being with his wife Rebecca and their five children. He enjoys long distance running.

Eliane Mboussi

Eliane graduated from Aristotle university of Thessaloniki in 2005. She has been working in family dental practices in the UK since then offering a wide range of dental treatment to all ages. She is passionate about dentistry and loves looking after her patients. She absolutely strives to do her utmost to help them achieve and maintain healthy teeth and gums with their dignity and respect at the core of everything I do. Attending numerous courses on a regular basis has helped to keep Eliane up to date with the latest techniques in dentistry. She holds a postgraduate certificate from the prestigious aesthetic and restorative dentist Dr Chris Orr and has undergone trainings in orthodontics with the renowned orthodontist Dr Ian Hutchinson. She enjoys minimally invasive aesthetic and restorative dentistry, orthodontics and root canal treatments. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading and going to the gym or for a run. She is fluent in French as well as in Greek.

Mona qualifies as a dental therapist from the University of Leeds in 2016. She has taken a keen interest composite bonding and is currently studying for her Postgraduate Diploma in Facial Aesthetics. Outside the world of dentistry, Mona is a fitness fanatic and loves to socialise with her family and friends in her spare time

Janet Shaw
Janet has been with Pennine Dental since the business started in 1987 and has become the friendly smiling face of the practice. Janet is responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice and is the welcoming face that most patients will see on their arrival.
